Choosing hotels near Changi Airport
Hotels near Changi Airport save you a trip across the island at an awkward hour. Singapore is small, and a taxi to the city centre often takes around 20 to 30 minutes. Even so, a bed close to the terminal makes sense after a late landing or before a dawn flight.
The hotels on this page fall into two groups. Some are joined to the terminals or to Jewel, the large mall and garden complex next to Terminal 1. Others are in Changi Village, a seaside area a short drive from the airport. Both work well, but they suit different trips.
Hotels at the terminals and in Jewel
Crowne Plaza Changi Airport
Crowne Plaza Changi Airport is linked to Terminal 3 by a covered walkway. It is a full-service 4-star hotel with a pool and several places to eat. It suits travellers who want a proper night's sleep and a short walk to check-in.
Jewel Changi Airport YOTELAIR
Jewel Changi Airport YOTELAIR is inside Jewel itself. Its rooms, which the brand calls cabins, are compact and made for short stays. It is a handy base if you want to rest, shower and then explore Jewel Changi Airport. Jewel has shops, places to eat, garden walks and a huge indoor waterfall called the Rain Vortex.
Landside or airside?
All the hotels on this page are landside. That means you must clear immigration to reach them. Check the entry rules for your passport before you plan a night outside the airport. Changi also has transit hotels inside the terminals for passengers who stay airside. Those are not part of this list.
Hotels in Changi Village
Village Hotel Changi and Changi Cove are in Changi Village, on the north-east tip of the island. Village Hotel Changi is a 4-star hotel. Changi Cove is a smaller boutique stay. The area feels calm and green, with low-rise buildings and sea breezes. See all Hotels in Changi & Airport for more choices.
This corner of Singapore rewards a spare day. Changi Beach Park runs along the coast and is good for an evening walk. From the ferry terminal at Changi Point, bumboats cross to Pulau Ubin, an island with rural trails and old kampong houses. A bumboat is a small motor boat, and a kampong is a traditional village. Changi Village also has a hawker centre, a large open-air food centre with many small stalls selling local dishes.
The trade-off is distance. Changi Village is not within walking distance of the terminals. You will need a taxi or ride-hailing car, so allow extra time before an early flight.
How to pick the right airport hotel
- For a very early flight: stay at the terminals. You can walk to check-in and skip the morning traffic.
- For a short rest between flights: a compact room in Jewel lets you sleep, shower and eat without going far.
- For a stopover of a day or two: Changi Village puts beaches, parks and island trips close by.
- For families: a hotel with a pool helps children burn off energy after a long flight.
- For a longer stay: the airport is far from most sights. After a night or two, many visitors move to a central area. Our 4-Star Hotels page lists good city choices.
Getting between the airport and your hotel
The terminal hotels are a walk from arrivals. Follow the signs once you have collected your bags. For Changi Village, taxis wait at every terminal, and ride-hailing apps work across Singapore.
To reach the city, the MRT (Singapore's metro) has a station under Terminals 2 and 3. Most trips need a change at Tanah Merah. It is the cheapest option, but slower with large bags. Read How to Use the MRT in Singapore: A Tourist Guide before you travel. If you shop before you fly, see GST Refund at Changi Airport: Step-by-Step Guide. It explains how visitors can claim back GST, Singapore's goods and services tax.
FAQs about Changi Airport hotels
