Universal Studios Singapore
A film-themed park on Sentosa with roller coasters, water rides and live shows across several themed zones.
About Universal Studios Singapore
Universal Studios Singapore is a film-themed park at Resorts World Sentosa. It was the first Universal Studios park in Southeast Asia, and it had its grand opening in 2011.
The park is built around themed zones based on famous films and places. It suits families, teenagers and adults who enjoy rides and shows.
Why visit Universal Studios Singapore
This is one of the most popular paid attractions in Singapore. In one day, you can ride roller coasters, watch live stunt shows and meet film characters.
The park is compact compared with larger theme parks overseas. That makes it easy to see most of it in a single day without long walks between zones.
It also works well for mixed groups. Thrill seekers can head for the big coasters, while younger children enjoy gentler rides and character areas.
Before you go, check the official website for opening hours and tickets. Rides and shows change from time to time, so look at what is open on your date.
Themed zones and top rides
The park is laid out as a loop around a central lagoon. Each zone has its own rides, shops and places to eat.

- Hollywood: the entrance street, with old-style film sets and shops.
- New York: city streets based on classic films, with shows and character meetings.
- Sci-Fi City: home to Battlestar Galactica, a pair of racing roller coasters, and Transformers The Ride.
- Ancient Egypt: the indoor Revenge of the Mummy coaster, which runs in near darkness.
- The Lost World: Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure and the WaterWorld stunt show.
- Far Far Away: a fairy-tale castle and rides themed on the Shrek films.
- Minion Land: a newer zone themed on the Despicable Me films.
Outside the gates, the large spinning Universal globe is a favourite photo spot. You can take photos there before you go in.
Some rides have height limits for safety. Check them on the official website if you are visiting with young children.
How to get there
The park is on Sentosa, the island resort just south of the city. The simplest route is to take the MRT to HarbourFront station and walk to VivoCity.
From VivoCity, take the Sentosa Express monorail to Resorts World station, which is close to the park entrance. You can also walk across to Sentosa along the Sentosa Boardwalk.
Taxis and ride-hailing cars can drop you at Resorts World Sentosa. See our guide to getting around Singapore for more transport tips.
