Wings of Time
An evening show on Siloso Beach that uses water screens, lights, fire effects and music to tell a story by the sea.
About Wings of Time
Wings of Time is an outdoor night show on Siloso Beach, on Sentosa island. It uses water screens, lasers, lights, fire effects and music to tell a story against the sea. The show is short, so it fits easily into an evening on the island.
This guide explains what to expect, how to get there and how to plan your evening. It suits families, couples and anyone who wants a relaxed end to a day on Sentosa.
What is Wings of Time?
Wings of Time is a multimedia show staged on a large set built in the sea, just off the beach. Tall fountains create screens of water. Pictures are projected onto these screens while lasers and coloured lights move across the sky. A soundtrack plays from start to finish.
The story follows two friends and a large, friendly bird. Together they travel through different places and times. The plot is simple, so young children can follow it easily. Most adults come for the visual effects rather than the story.
The show runs in the evening, after dark. Watching it is a good way to finish a day of beaches, rides and museums on Sentosa.
What to see and do at the show
Most people arrive a little early, find a seat and watch the sky turn dark over the water. When the show begins, the water screens rise and the story starts. The effects are clearest from the middle of the seating area.
Things to look out for:
- Moving pictures projected onto giant screens of water
- Lasers and coloured lights over the sea
- Fire effects timed to the music
- A big finale to close the show
- The view of the beach and the sea at night
Seating is outdoors and faces the sea. There may be more than one ticket type, with seats in different parts of the seating area. Check the official website for show times and tickets.
If you enjoy evening shows, Singapore has several more. Some are free, such as the light shows at Marina Bay and Gardens by the Bay. Read our guide to free light shows in Singapore to plan another night out.
How to get to Wings of Time
Wings of Time is on Siloso Beach, a short walk from Beach Station on the Sentosa Express. The Sentosa Express is a monorail that starts at VivoCity, next to HarbourFront MRT station. HarbourFront is on the North East Line and the Circle Line.
You can also walk to the island along the Sentosa Boardwalk, which starts near VivoCity. Taxis and ride-hailing cars can drop you close to the beach. New to the trains? Our guide on how to use the MRT in Singapore explains tickets and routes.
Plan your trip back before the show starts. Many people leave at the same time, so the station can be busy afterwards.
Tips for visiting Wings of Time
The show is outdoors, so the weather matters. Singapore often has short, heavy storms, and bad weather can delay or stop a show. Check for updates on the day before you set off.
- Book ahead for weekends and school holidays, when shows can fill up.
- Arrive early so you have time to find your seat calmly.
- Bring insect repellent, as you will sit by the beach after dark.
- Leave extra time to get home, as the station is busy after the show.
- Keep children close as the crowd leaves in the dark.
Families with young children may want to sit near an aisle. This makes it easier to step out if a child gets tired or finds the loud sounds too much.
Food, hotels and things to do nearby
Siloso Beach and the rest of Sentosa have many places to eat before the show. Coastes is a casual restaurant right on Siloso Beach. For a more formal dinner, Resorts World Sentosa has several sit-down restaurants. For more choice, browse all restaurants on Sentosa.
If you want to stay on the island, Village Hotel Sentosa and The Barracks Hotel Sentosa are two options. You can compare all hotels on Sentosa or read our Sentosa resorts guide.
During the day, visit Fort Siloso, try the zip line at Mega Adventure Park or relax on Palawan Beach. Our Sentosa Island Day Out page shows how to plan a full day. For more ideas, see our lists of nightlife in Singapore and family fun.
