A large bird park in Mandai where you walk through huge aviaries themed on different parts of the world.
Bird Paradise is a large bird park in Mandai, in the north of Singapore. It opened in 2023 and took over from the older Jurong Bird Park. Visitors walk through huge aviaries where birds fly freely overhead.
This guide explains what to see, how to get there and how to plan a visit with the other wildlife parks in Mandai.
Bird Paradise is one of the newer parks in the Mandai Wildlife Reserve. Instead of small cages, most birds live in big walk-through aviaries. Each aviary is based on a different part of the world, with plants and water to match.
The result feels like a series of gardens full of birds. You can watch parrots, hornbills, flamingos and penguins at close range. It suits families, photographers and anyone who enjoys nature.
Paths link the aviaries, so you can walk from one to the next at your own pace. Take your time in each one, as many birds sit quietly in the trees.

Check the official Bird Paradise website for presentation and feeding times, as they change. Follow staff instructions and never feed the birds unless you are in an official session.
Bring a camera or phone with a good zoom, as some birds sit high in the trees. For more places to take pictures, see our photo spots guides.
Bird Paradise is in Mandai, close to Singapore Zoo, River Wonders and Night Safari. There is no MRT station at the park. Many visitors take the train to Khatib MRT station on the North-South Line, then a shuttle bus to the Mandai parks. Check the official website for the current shuttle service.
Public buses also serve Mandai, and taxis or ride-hailing cars are easy for families. Our guide on how to use the MRT in Singapore explains how to pay and plan a route.
Some areas are indoors or shaded, but much of the park is outdoors. Bring a hat, water and an umbrella for sudden showers. Speak softly in the aviaries so you do not scare the birds.
There are food outlets inside the park and around the Mandai area. You can stop for lunch between aviaries.
The other Mandai parks are close by. Singapore Zoo is known for its orangutans and open-style enclosures. River Wonders has river animals and giant pandas. After dark, Night Safari shows animals that are active at night.
Also in the north, Kranji War Memorial is a quiet place to remember those who died in the Second World War. Read our North Singapore guide or our theme parks and zoos guides for more. See also our nature and parks and family fun lists.
Bird Paradise replaced Jurong Bird Park, which closed in early 2023. Many of the birds moved to the new park in Mandai.
Plan for three to four hours. Allow more time if you want to watch a bird presentation.
