Mount Faber Park
A free hilltop park near HarbourFront with views over the harbour, Sentosa and the city, plus easy walking trails.
About Mount Faber Park
Mount Faber Park is a hilltop park in the south of Singapore, just above HarbourFront. It is one of the oldest parks in Singapore. From the top you get wide views over the harbour, Sentosa and the city. Entry to the park is free, so it is an easy and low-cost outing.
This guide explains what to see, how to get up the hill and how to make the most of your visit.
What is Mount Faber Park and why visit?
Mount Faber is a hill covered in forest, with roads and walking trails winding up to the top. The park is part of the Southern Ridges. This is a chain of green spaces and walking routes across the south of Singapore. It links Mount Faber Park with Telok Blangah Hill Park, HortPark, Kent Ridge Park and Labrador Nature Reserve.
People come here for the views, the fresh air and the walks. It is also a stop on the Singapore Cable Car, so you can arrive or leave by cable car. Many visitors come in the late afternoon and stay to see the city lights come on.
What to see and do
Most of the main sights are near the top of the hill. You can see them all in an easy walk.

Faber Point lookout
Faber Point is a lookout near the summit. It has a Merlion statue and wide views over the harbour and the islands to the south. A long wall nearby shows scenes from Singapore's history in relief. It is a popular spot for photos.
Mount Faber Peak
Mount Faber Peak is the cable car station on the hill. It has restaurants and a viewing area. Even if you do not ride the cable car, it is a nice place to rest and enjoy the view.
Henderson Waves
Henderson Waves is a wave-shaped footbridge high above the road. It links Mount Faber Park with Telok Blangah Hill Park. It is one of the highest pedestrian bridges in Singapore. The bridge is lit up in the evening and looks lovely at dusk.
Walking trails
Several trails run through the forest on the hill. The Marang Trail is a short but steep route with many steps. It climbs from near HarbourFront MRT station to the top. Other paths lead west along the Southern Ridges.
How to get to Mount Faber Park
There are three main ways up. You can walk, ride the cable car or take a taxi.
- Walk: Take the MRT to HarbourFront station on the North East and Circle lines. Then follow the signs to the Marang Trail. The climb is short but steep.
- Cable car: Ride the Singapore Cable Car from HarbourFront or Sentosa to Mount Faber. The cable car charges a fare, so check the official website for tickets.
- Taxi: A taxi or ride-hailing car can take you close to the top. This is the easiest choice for older visitors or young children.
If you are new to the trains, read our guide on how to use the MRT in Singapore.
